AOL's Iconic Instant Messenger Yellow Running Man Mens Tee
In 1997, AOL shifted strategy and decided to start offering their services to people that were not paying them for internet access. Their version of Instant Messenger was the coolest thing and now it was available to everyone and the sprinting yellow figure became the symbol of getting things done online. Inspired by 1940s and '50s postwar American logos and trademarks, the figure became a cultural icon and (with occasional temporary retirements) has outlasted AOL itself.
